Fishing and catching

Due to the location so close to the open sea, this destination offers interesting fishing opportunities. The waters between the islands offer good and sheltered fishing spots. The sandbanks between the islands give excellent light fishing for cod. After the big cod approach the coast in the spring, the mackerel soon follows and enters the coastal waters in big schools. In good weather you can try the banks and depths of the open ocean either with or without guidance of a professional fishermen from your own boat. Throughout the whole year cod, coalfish, redfish and torsk can be caught here. The transition area between the islands and the open sea offers beautiful spots to fish for coalfish.

Crabfishing

M/K Ørnin, a 47 feet fishing vessel, arrange tours in the skerries or fishing tours at the open sea. Tours can be arranged on your request. The crabseason is in the autumn, and crab-pots are available for our guests.
 

Inland- and salmonfishing

   
Good salmon rivers as Norddalselva and Stordalselva in Åfjord, and Steindalselva in Osen, are max. 45 min. travelling time from Bessaker. Many good fishing lakes nearby.
